We have a long history with the Flanders Red style, yet are always looking at ways to interpret the style in our own way. We had access to some first use Buffalo Trace barrels, and thought the whiskey character would complement the fruity acidity of our red ale blend. The base beer has had up to 2 years ageing in French oak, with a further three months in whiskey barrels. A sister beer to the Tennessee Red.
On the nose, dark fruits, coconut, vanillins, brett. some delicate funk. The palate displays more of the same, with a little up front booze.
