The first documented European landing in Australia was by Willem Janzsoon. We imagined him and his crew making use of the Dutch Trading company’s spice trade along with the wealth of Australian native botanicals that possibly were available when we conceived the idea of this Jenever style Gin.
To truly capture the idea, we distilled a range of beers from our barrel wonderland to make the malt base component of classic Jenevers. To complement this base we selected botanicals that reflect not only Willem’s homeland, but the spices from countries that the Dutch Trading company would have been transporting, as well as the new botanicals on the distant shores of Australia.
