Birrativo

We wanted to create an Australian spin on a classic aperitif, one where the old world and new world meet, with each contributing to a sum greater than its parts. We also wanted to add an extra Boatrocker touch by distilling beer to be used for the base spirit.

From the old world we looked to classic bittering agents such as gentian root and quassia chips. We then built on these foundations with native Australian botanicals such as anise myrtle, mountain pepperberries, and sandalwood. 

West Australian sandalwood is prominent aromatically, with the anise myrtle and pepperberry giving depth and complexity to the overall flavour.

Wonderful when mixed simply with soda, as a spritz, or try it in a boulevardier.
